The good thing about being down with the virus is, you get some time to yourself, doing the things you enjoy. Actually, I am counting my blessings for the ability to be sick. It’s as much proof of “being alive” as can be.
It’s been a depressing week surely. Just when you thought, oh they pulled off a big one in Istanbul it’ll be a while before another happened, the news on Dhaka came in. Even before the authorities confirmed how many dead bodies really were in the cafe, people who were joyously beginning their Eid holiday week in Baghdad were hit. Casualty numbers keep on climbing every time I refresh the news feed. My prayers are with the families and friends of these victims who do not deserve to have their lives cut short on someone else’s thwarted ideologies : (
With the new moon soon upon us this Syawal, it’s time for reflection, redemption and forgiveness. It’s time to count our blessings, for the health and happiness of our loved ones.
Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri to all my dear friends! (hopefully it’s on the 6th so everyone in Malaysia gets July 8 off : ) What about Singapore?)
