Gosh, my last post was in August! Sorry for the absence. It’s not for lack of material but the past 3 months had been truly overwhelming, yet I’d say the best this year.
On 9/11 (deliberately so, because this date bears much significance for me), I made a new career move, and transplanted myself from Shanghai to Hangzhou to join the amazing team at China’s largest internet company. In between then and now, there’ve been home trips, business trips, excursions, working weekends …
And only yesterday, thanks to friends – dear Tham, Ashley and May – who have come visiting from Shanghai and KL, and the splendid sunny weather, that I’ve really ventured out into this beautiful garden city and recorded some of her very beautiful autumn/winter sights. More will come, so watch this space!
I’ve heard a lot about 绿茶, Hangzhou’s homegrown restaurant set in her famous Longjing green tea fields (the restaurant’s namesake), but have never been there. Thanks to Tham who suggested that we meet there to kick off their Hangzhou day trip for lunch. After the meal, we set off for a walk toward the famous West Lake (西湖), cutting across very picturesque sights.
